Full patch notes for Distant Shift VU4.4, covering the new System Terminal, sidebar improvements, God Booster and Fabrication fixes, and the Expedition Assignment rework.

VU4.4 Patch Notes - System Terminal & Assignment Rework

Distant Shift VU4.4 is now live.

SYSTEM TERMINAL

• Added the new System Terminal to the left sidebar beneath the profession progression section.

• Added a global gameplay event system so the terminal can react to player actions throughout Distant Shift.

• The terminal now reacts contextually to actions including manual profession activity, upgrade purchases, profession changes, creature defeats, discoveries, sector progression, world progression, achievements, Boosters, minigames, Shop activity and Ascension.

• Added procedural terminal dialogue generation so responses are assembled dynamically rather than relying on a large fixed list of complete messages.

• Terminal responses can use contextual information such as profession, manual or automatic progression, upgrade names, upgrade levels and player behaviour.

• Added behavioural reactions for repeated or rapid activity including rapid manual input, repeated upgrades, profession switching and other player patterns.

• Added message-history protection to reduce repeated terminal responses and keep commentary varied during longer sessions.

• Added event cooldowns and response filtering so the terminal reacts without overwhelming normal gameplay.

• Expanded the terminal display to show four message rows at once.

• Added scrollable terminal history so previous messages can be reviewed.

• The terminal automatically follows new messages while retaining earlier terminal output for manual scrolling.

• Kept the terminal non-intrusive with no popup interruptions and no dependency on the existing notification system.

SIDEBAR & PROFESSION INTERFACE

• Compacted the profession section in the left sidebar to create more room for gameplay information.

• Inactive professions now collapse into smaller rows while the currently selected profession remains expanded.

• Switching profession screens automatically updates which profession entry is expanded.

• Positioned the System Terminal directly below profession progression and above Achievements, Loot History and Ascension.

• Moved the God Booster control into the existing Shop, Minigame and Sector control row.

• God Booster availability no longer creates an additional sidebar row or causes unnecessary vertical layout movement.

GOD BOOSTER & FABRICATION

• Fixed the Fabrication idle display not visibly responding when God Booster was activated.

• Separated the displayed God Booster Fabrication value from the underlying fabrication cycle rate so the interface can show the 10x effect without increasing fabrication cycle speed.

• Fixed an intermediate display calculation that incorrectly multiplied Fabrication capacity by component yield and caused the displayed idle value to become inflated even without God Booster active.

• Confirmed God Booster continues to provide exactly 10x eligible productive output across Gathering, Combat, Prospecting and Fabrication.

• Confirmed God Booster applies to eligible manual output across all four professions.

• Preserved Fabrication output boosting without multiplying resource consumption or accidentally applying the God Booster twice.

EXPEDITION ASSIGNMENTS

• Reworked endless Expedition Assignment pacing so distant sector milestones are no longer shown immediately after completing the previous milestone.

• Sector milestone assignments now enter the assignment queue only when the player is approximately one or two sectors away from the target.

• Added procedurally generated assignments between major sector milestones so progression continues to provide shorter objectives while working toward the next major sector target.

• Added generated assignment types covering creature defeats, Field Essence gathering, Ore extraction, Component fabrication, manual actions, upgrade purchases and Credit earnings.

• Generated assignment targets now scale from current player progression rather than using outdated early-game quantities.

• Endless assignment state is now retained so generated objectives remain stable instead of unexpectedly changing during normal gameplay.

• Improved migration behaviour so existing completed sector milestones continue to be respected when loading older saves.

• Significantly increased higher-sector assignment rewards.

• Assignment rewards now scale using both sector progression and the current expedition economy so late-game rewards remain meaningful when players are operating with millions or billions of Credits.

• Major sector milestone assignments provide stronger rewards than the shorter generated assignments between them.
