These terms apply when accessing the Distant Shift website, playing the browser game or using related project features.
By accessing or using Distant Shift, you agree to use the website and game lawfully and in accordance with these terms.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the website or game.
Distant Shift is provided as a browser-based game for personal entertainment and ordinary non-commercial use.
You may access the public website and play the game subject to these terms and any technical restrictions needed to operate or protect the service.
Game progress may be stored locally in your browser. Distant Shift also supports manual JSON save export and import.
You are responsible for keeping any exported backups you wish to retain. Clearing browser storage, changing devices or browser behaviour may remove locally stored progress.
Credits, Field Essence, ore and minerals, Components, Genesis shards, upgrades and other progression values exist only within Distant Shift.
They have no guaranteed real-world monetary value, cannot be redeemed through Distant Shift for cash and should not be treated as financial assets.
You must not deliberately interfere with the website, attempt to damage the service, distribute malicious code, abuse infrastructure, impersonate the project or use the site for unlawful activity.
Reasonable experimentation with your own exported save file is at your own risk, but modified or invalid save data may be rejected by the game.
Distant Shift may be updated, rebalanced, expanded, changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time.
Features, values, progression requirements, artwork, audio, worlds, creatures and other game content may change between versions.
No guarantee is made that the website or game will always be available, uninterrupted or free from bugs.
Maintenance, hosting issues, browser changes, network problems or development work may temporarily affect access.
Distant Shift is an original independent game created by DreamRJ.
Original Distant Shift branding, original game content, original website material and associated project assets owned by DreamRJ are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. All rights are reserved unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Distant Shift may use third-party libraries, music, sound effects or other licensed material.
Those materials remain subject to the rights, licences and terms of their respective creators or rights holders. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of third-party material to DreamRJ.
The website may link to external services or websites. Those services are operated independently and are subject to their own terms, privacy policies and availability.
Distant Shift is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While reasonable effort is made to keep the project working correctly, no guarantee is made that every feature will always operate without error.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the project creator is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website or game.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
These Terms of Use may be updated as the project develops. The effective date shown on this page will be changed when material revisions are made.
Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected] or raised through the Contact page.
